On Sept. 7, 1996 Tupac Shakur (birth name Lesane Parish Crooks) was at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for the Mike Tyson - Bruce Sheldon boxing match.

On his way out he got into a car to leave the arena and was caught by traffic. A white sedan pulled up next to Shakur's right side and fired into the vehicle. He was then taken to University Medical Center and hung on in a coma for almost a week until his body gave out on Sept 13, 1996.

The murder remains unsolved today.

Wow, that seems like yesterday. All that fame and money, and he couldn't leave his past behind. Such a shame.
