'Desperate Housewives' Creator Marc Cherry Has Always Known How The Show Will End
Creator Marc Cherry tells me he's known since the first season of ABC's Desperate Housewives how he wants the show to end. That said, while he's reluctant to offer specifics, he promises "a satisfying and logical end" in the May finale. "There is an idea behind this show that has to do with the frustrations of ordinary women, so you'll see my feelings about why that life is worth it," he says. "There will be huge, life-changing events for all the women."
My prediction? Mirroring the drama's premiere, in which murderer Mary Alice blew her brains out, the cover-up of Gaby's stepdad's murder will lead one of the Housewives to attempt suicide. But I believe the women will have learned from their past mistakes and save their friend before it's too late. And remember, the second-season finale flashed back to how Mary Alice brought the Housewives together when they moved to Fairview. In the finale, I can see Marc showing how each character leaves Wisteria Lane, whether by relocation — or death. Life on "Wisteria Lane will continue with or without those characters there," hints Marc. "And I have an idea to honor pretty much every memorable character we've ever had on the show." Yup, that even includes persona non grata Nicollette Sheridan, though Marc has no plans to show Edie Britt burning in hell. "I've got a classier way than that," he says. http://www.tvguide.com/News/Kecks-Ex...ileid=breaking |
