Default Why was Jack and Janet so uncomfortable around each other when they...

were set up accidently on a date by the computer? I mean they were living together for 5 years already so why not just laugh it off and have a outing as friends and enjoy dinner???-lol

I have some close female friends and I couldn't see us being uncomfortable if set up by a computer we would have been laughing our a$$ off and enjoying dinner.

BTW: this episode confirms that the dating process is so FAKE and everyone lies to make themselves look better which is why i hate dating.

Couldn't have said it better myself! I think Jack and Janet would have made a cute couple.

Could have been a better way to write that scene.

Jack and Janet were both super anxious, self-conscious people. To be set up on a DATE with someone that's supposed to be your friend might have been awkward for them.

Or we could go my favorite route and say that they secretly liked each other and now they had to face it head on. Oops.

Well yeah, they knew each other as roommates and friends, but to be set up on a date brings a whole new element to their relationship and implies something romantic. And that is something that I guess Janet and Jack didn't want to explore, as it would add a whole new batch of problems to them living together.
