Lol Porn Star John Holmes Said He Was 'Eddie Haskell' and Ken Osmond Outed Him

I don't know if people know this story, but I'll tell it anyway:

I just watched a documentary on adult film star John Holmes, John Holmes: The Man, The Myth, The Legend (2004), and they explained this interesting story.

John Holmes was a liar, he always told lies to make himself sound and look more interesting than what it really was. Around the time he first went into the industry he told the pornographers making the movies that he used to star in "Leave it to Beaver" as 'Eddie Haskell'.

So the pornographers wanted to make money off of this and they put in their video descriptions on the pornos: "Starring Former Child Star in 'Leave it to Beaver' - See Eddie Haskell in Action!"

To their surprise they were contacted by the real 'Eddie Haskell', Ken Osmond, who also happened to be an LAPD officer and he demanded that everything be set straight.

They had to stop mentioning 'Eddie Haskell' and "Leave it to Beaver" on their pornos after this. They honestly thought that John Holmes was telling the truth about his past on "Leave it to Beaver".

Cool

Wow It's hard to believe that those porn industry people could be so gullible and misinformed! I thought it was very common knowledge that Ken Osmond played Eddie Haskell. Then again I guess "Leave It To Beaver" is not the kind of TV show people in the porn industry tend to watch!!

I have seen interviews with actors of directors who had worked with Holmes, and not only did they describe him as a compulsive liar, but he was such a convincing liar, that people would believe his BS stories.

Probably the same people that believed Jerry Mathers was killed in Vietnam.

I'd credit moderator JamesG for this. He brought it up in another question to me, and I thought it was interesting.

Okay, I remember back in the day when this rumor was still circulating "live" and I found it believable, because as the pix in the original post show, there is considerable similarity.

Didn't really know or care if "Ken Osmond" or "John Holmes" were stage names, (one versus the other) the internet was not ubiquitous back in those days, so immediate verification was not commonly available.
But another common rumor back in the day was that 'Holmes' was a stage name given when the actor reminded a director of a tow-truck.

I think the main barrier to believing Eddie Haskell had become John Holmes was the earlier rumor that he had become Alice Cooper.

On a side note, I think that Val Kilmer was an incredibly bad choice to portray Holmes in "Wonderland"
.
