Star Wars didn't win any emmys when it came out.

it also did not win any Tonys, but you can see what awards it did win here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076759/awards

but it was a huge success at the box office; when they talk about blockbuster movies now, even Titanic that was NOTHING like the sensation that the original Star Wars movie was - I remember lineups that were 3 blocks long and waiting hours to try to get in to see the movie.

"Star Wars" was nominated for Best Pic in 1977.

Emmys are the awards given out for TV shows. Oscars (aka Acadamey Awards) are given out for movies.
