Default I received a job offer today, one day before Obama's big speech-lol

Well I'm very pleased that I woke up this morning to receive a phone call about a job offer. I received this offer based on my work with the company I was laid off from in July. I didn't apply to any jobs since I was laid off in July because I expected to be called back by the job once they received funding. So I'm so thankful to file for my last unemployment check this sunday.

happy enough to cry but I won't do that because I'm a grown man-lol

There's nothing wrong with tears of joy, my friend. This is your livelihood here. Congratulations.

I have become a little spoiled Janice. For 11 years all my jobs were in walking distance from my apartment and now this job will be a 20 min train ride away. So I need to just suck it up and realize that distance is not important, it's the OPPORTUNITY

This is a different job with the same agency? I thought it was the same one. Yeah, commuting is awful on the the trains. I did it for years. One job, I had to take a bus, then a train with a transfer. I use to lay the guilt on Lou to give me a ride all the way in, lol.

The company I was working for has another branch which is the secondary company. The secondary company called me before the main company this morning. It will be the same position just at a different place. I was expecting to be called by the main company but since i'm being offered a job right now I didn't want to take any chances on waiting and never being called.

Slightly relevant to the topic but when I returned to classes last week I've noticed that every business has job openings all of a sudden. That's nice for motivation and all but how many of these people will actually get hired? I imagine 3 out of 20 or some weird selective ratio.
