A New 'Dynasty' Script Has Been Written (According to Joan Collins) - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Joan Collins has revealed that a script for a revival of Dynasty may have been written.

Speaking on Loose Women today, Collins admitted that she would love to reprise her role as Alexis Carrington in a reboot of the 1980s show.

"I would love to be Alexis again because I loved doing it and it was a great role," she said.

"And I know that I've been in constant contact with Esther Shapiro who wrote it, and apparently they've written a script, but I can't tell you anything about it - it's top, top secret."

However, Collins acknowledged that a return to the show could be difficult following the death last year of her former co-star John Forsythe, who played Blake Carrington.

A reboot of Dallas is currently being made for TNT, but Collins suggested that a new series of Dynasty may face problems.

"I don't know how well Dallas did when it came on - I think a lot depends on that," she said. "But they did have their three people - they had Linda [Gray] and then they had Patrick Duffy and Larry Hagman, who were all there. But there are only just a few of us left, so I don't know."

Earlier this year, Dynasty creator Richard Shapiro revealed that he is developing a movie adaptation of the soap.
