FANFICTION CHALLENGE ON ff BOARD
I posted this fanfiction challenge in more detail on the GI ff board but want to put a quick notice about it here.
Challenge: write a G and M fanfiction (or other if you prefer--even non-romance) that puts the castaways right into the 70's and the disco era--which they would have eventually experienced, either on the island or off. |

I'm writing a story right now that takes place in '78 after they're rescued. There's no disco, but some epic physical comedy and some Kansans causing some trouble.
Teebs is right, though. It's a little depressing when people disappear from the boards/sites and there's no interaction. Or, even worse, that you see people are reading and then no replies. Yikes. |

I wrote a Rescue story, but they never really left the hotel, whomp whomp. And I have a story on there now which is a work in progress. It doesn't put me off writing, because that would be ridiculous, but it doesn't exactly have me punching the air, either. It seems that at the moment, JWood201 and I are keeping the GI ffnet board active, (yay us!) with one or two others who write something and then disappear. It'll pick up again, I'm sure, because what goes around comes around and GI will pick up in popularity once writers remember what a timeless and awesome show it really is. Meanwhile, JWood201 and I continue to support each other. Right, little buddy?

Hahaha. Did they have connecting rooms, Teebs? o.O
It's true, I agree. Everything is circular - the people will come back to GI because it's timeless and awesome and fun to analyze. Lack of reviews isn't going to make people stop (well, it might make some people stop), but they do tend to make people happy, haha. |
