Do the DVDs cut out scenes like TV Land's episodes do?

I'm sorry if this has been discussed before, but I'm having an issue with some of the Three's Company episodes that I've been taping on my DVR from TV Land. Many of those episodes have dialogue that has been cut out or something and it bugs me. For example, in the Not So Great Imposter thread, the part is missing where Jack tells Janet and Cindy to refer to him as David Miller from now on. That's one of many other omissions that I've seen. Another one is where Jack said "a little green for the navy bean" to the waiter, but in the TV Land version it isn't there. When our family used to tape Three's Company back in the 80s, those shows had scenes or dialogue that seem to be cut out from the TV Land versions. They seemed like the full versions of the shows.

Why is this happening?

Why is this happening?

Yes TV Land cuts out scenes to make room for more commercials because they how they make their money. And you can buy the DVD's for cheap now from ebay. I wouldn't recommend recording any episodes from TV Land just watching them for pleasure.
