I doubt it, but it doesn't sound encouraging for new cases.

Farina-hosted UM sucks. You're better off watching them on the forbidden website.

Spike TV is not any better. They advertise it for a certain timeslot, and even put a description of the stories that are going to be profiled, but then put something else on instead like CSI: Whatever.

They either need to make new episodes, or just show the old Stack ones. Whoever had the idea of simply re-making old ones with a new host? Complete idiot. There is no benefit to that, it just makes them worse. At least new episodes with Farina would be tolerable since it would new cases presented..so that would be interesting.
Nobody wants to watch Farina host old episodes. |

I set my DVR to grab every episode of UM on cable. Of course all of them are Farina episodes Ive already seen. There usually is two on Lifetime during the day, sometimes a marathon of 4 - 5 episodes through 8 or 9 pm. The Spike ones are really frustrating because they'll air at 2am, and will let Star Trek take like the first 10 minutes of the episode, then either resume the UM 10 minutes in or the episode is cut off for me at the end because the timeslot is over. CMP is really dumb for not just re airing Stack segments. They could maybe modernize the intros, but keep the music and I would assure more people would watch. It just seems theres some contractual reason Stack episodes don't air. |

I don't think UM needs to be "moderinzed". By all accounts the music is not dated and is still scary as hell. The new UM conveniently doesn't mention the exact dates of the cases as a way to mask how old they really are. Most people are probably thinking it's recent, but then when they show an interviewee wearing a Member's Only jacket they must really be scratching their heads.

UM used to be on M-F between 4pm and 6pm on Lifetime with a marathon on Thursday - now Lifetime seems to be showing it M, W, and F, from 4pm to 6pm, with other programming on Tuesday and Thursday and no more marathon.
I'm not surprised, frankly, since regular viewers have probably seen every segment hundreds of time by now, they aren't making new stories, and half the stories they do have are solved or expired. |
