Question Did the 'Friends' Writers Ruin The Ross & Rachel Storyline?

Whenever ideas waned, the writers fell back on the Ross-Rachel relationship dynamic (coincidentally, the show’s least interesting idea in the first place)… again, and again, and again. They went back to it so many times, I think Friends fans got sick of them.

Although I somewhat agree that lazy writing may have been in play, the way they wrote that last episode with the whole airport thing was very well done and I enjoyed seeing them together at the end of the series.

I always thought the Ross character was a total bore. Looking the the picture of Ross and Rachel they look more like brother and sister ie--no chemistry

I got tired of the off and on, back and forth relationship between Ross and Rachel. After a while, I didn't care if they ever got back together.

And why did they have Rachel have a child out of wedlock when the writers knew full well they would eventually reunite once and for all.

Call me old fashioned, but they should have married and then had a child together.

Exactly! And them living together while he was dating Mona was ridiculous. Ross was such a wimp.

And of all the women Ross dated, Mona, to me, was the most normal.

She was pretty, sweet and seemed down to earth.

Which is probably why she got out of that relationship pretty quickly!

I didnt really like how they teased the relationship, especially in the beginning. I mean, first Ross likes Rachel, then she finds out, she falls for him yet, hes dating someone else. Then, he breaks up with Julie and then they kiss and your thinking they will get together. Then Ross does that list and lists Rachel as "Just a waitress" and Rachel got mad, even though she was "Just a waitress". My point is that why would you tease them kissing and almost being a couple before it was taken away?
