Default Beaver Questions That Would Have Been Great To Find Out!

Leave it to Beaver-Unknown Trivia Questions!

1.) In "Capitan Jack" where were the Alligator Farm scenes filmed?

2.) What happened to the dog in the tag sequence of "Capitan Jack?"

3) Where is the location of Mayfield? It is RUMORED to be in Ohio, but has never been verified.

4.) In "Beaver's Fear" did Eddie (Ken Osmond) REALLY get sick on that roller coaster? He sure looked like he was NOT acting!

5.) Where was "Wally's Dinner Date" restaurant scenes filmed? Was there actually a White Fox Restaurant for real?

6.) What were Jerry and Tony's salaries each year?

7.) What was the name of Ward's Company?

8.) Where were the camping scenes for 'Night in the Woods" filmed?

9.) It's been rumored that Tony Dow got his license around the time that "Wally's License" was filmed and the producers had Tony drive his own car for those scenes. Does anyone know the make and model of that car?

10.) Did Jerry have any trouble climbing into the soup bowl in the classic, "In The Soup" Episode? Jerry said that this episode was the most expensive they ever did, because they had to pay a huge fee to get permission to use the billboard sponsor. It was so expensive, that for the next several episodes, they could not afford to pay ANY guest star actors!

If it was Ohio, then why in the episode where Wally, friends, and The Beaver are building the canoe would Ward say the nearest ocean is 20 miles away? I think Ward, having been a Seabee would know where the Oceans are located.

And in one of the episodes, doesn't Larry tell Beaver his dad is away on business in Ohio?

ANother huge question for me is that LITB being a conservative family show in a conservative time of U.S. history, WHY oh WHY were there not any Christmas shows made? I mean, this is a family who mentions going to church several times and even associated with extended family such as Aunt Martha and Uncle Billy. Why did they not have any Christmas shows???

"Wally's Dinner Date" and "Night in the Woods" were not 'location' filmed, were they? If you mean the brief exterior shots, surely Hollywood had volumes of such stock footage. But their sound stages could be converted quickly into whatever they needed for a scene. I'm not sure if it's "Wally's Dinner Date" or "Beaver Won't Eat," but one (at least) of those has an exterior shot of a restaurant that I have seen on other shows, such as "My Three Sons."

"The Haircut" s:1 ep:4 was the only "christmas" episode during the series run.

But GOD and faith were mentioned on several different occasions.

Not sure how "The Haircut" is a Christmas episode. It aired on October 25, 1957.

They showed Beaver singing in his Christmas pageant at school.

Tweety, thanks, this link is very informative.

Now that the show's on Antenna TV, I'm revisiting it quite a bit - and enjoying it!

In "Beaver's Football Award" who is the person in the picture identified as Mule Saunders in the newspaper? I cannot find any Mule Sanders associations for football in Internet searches, but saw some for other sports.

I am always amazed at how realistic they can make newspapers and articles in sitcoms! With DVD's, you can pause them, and read all the parts of the paper! Something impossible when Beaver was in its original run, where you had to catch the show when it aired, wait for a rerun, or not see it at all.

Specifically, Mr. Mondello was always out of town, and often in Cincinnati. It's mentioned in the episode, "Larry Hides Out." Or else he is working late. Sometimes he is home, usually yelling at Larry, but only seen once. At Beaver's school pageant where Larry plays a hop-toad, and can't find the curtain after his scene! LOL! ANY scenes with Larry's nervous mother yelling at him, or Fred yelling at Lumpy are pure gold! LOL!

You didn't really expect there to be a real Mule Saunders, did you? That's just a made-up name. In the ep where Beaver and Wally feud over who's going to go to the ballgame (Beaver finally wins out), somebody named "Saunders" hits the winning home run.

Jack, one thing I'd like to know is what was with Violet? Why was she so ugly to the Beav. and if memory serves, she kinda tried to play the teacher's pet.
Did she have a crush on Beaver or was she just mean to everyone and why?
