Cool "7th Heaven" Celebrates 15 Years - A Look at the Cast Now

"7th Heaven" Turns 15: Where Are They Now?
by AOL TV Staff
posted Aug 26th 2011

It might be hard to believe, but Fri., Aug. 26 marks the 15th anniversary of the premiere of '90s TV drama "7th Heaven".

Set in the fictional town of Glen Oak, Calif., '7th Heaven' followed the adventures of Rev. Eric Camden, his wife, Annie, and his seven mischievous children. The seemingly squeaky-clean preacher's family had flaws, but were exceedingly generous -- they collected stray, troubled teenagers like some people collect cats.

Although "7th Heaven" wasn't one of The WB's original shows when the network debuted in 1995, it premiered a year later and ultimately outlived the channel itself.

So, what have the Camdens been up to since "7th Heaven" went off the air in 2007? You've probably seen Jessica Biel around, but check out our gallery below and find out what your other favorite cast members are doing now:

Stephen Collins as 'Rev. Eric Camden'

Then: The Reverend was busy trying to instill good Christian values into his seven children and anyone else who needed his help.

Now: After a few guest spots on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and "Law & Order", Collins was introduced as Addison Shepherd's father on "Private Practice" in 2009.

He was a series regular last year on ABC's now-canceled superhero show "No Ordinary Family", and will guest star on "The Office" this fall as Andy's father.

Catherine Hicks as 'Annie Camden'

Then: The matriarch of the Camden family helped manage her do-gooder husband and brood of seven active kids.

Now: Hicks has starred in a few made-for-TV movies on CBS and Lifetime.

In 2010, she got positive reviews for her role in the Hollywood production of Why Torture is Wrong and the People Who Love Them.

Barry Watson as 'Matthew Camden'

Then: He was the oldest member of the Camden family who bounced from job to job and had a few serious girlfriends. After experimenting with pot, he eventually got his act together and became a doctor.

In 2002, Watson left the show after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease. He took a hiatus from acting until he went into remission in 2006, but returned to "7th Heaven" for a few guest appearances before the show ended.

Now: Watson played the lead in the short-lived ABC comedy "What About Brian?" before starring in ABC's "Samantha Who?" as Christina Applegate's former fiance.

Earlier this year he starred in the ABC Family original movie My Future Boyfriend opposite Sara Rue.

Jessica Biel as 'Mary Camden'

Then: She was the Camden family's rebellious eldest daughter who got arrested for vandalizing the school gym and had a few questionable boyfriends. She decided not to go to college but could not hold down a steady job.

During the show's fifth season, Biel posed semi-nude in a men's magazine and told the mag she had grown tired of her role as wholesome kid. She was promptly written off "7th Heaven".

Now: Biel has launched a successful movie career and has no fewer than seven films on the docket for the coming year.

Last year she appeared in both the summer blockbuster The A-Team and the rom-com Valentine's Day, and can next be seen in the sequel to the former, New Year's Eve.

And let's not forget that on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Timberlake.

Beverley Mitchell as 'Lucy Camden'

Then: Lucy blossomed from boy-crazy preacher's daughter to a minister and mother.

Mitchell's Lucy was the only character besides Stephen Collins' Rev. Camden to appear in every episode for all eleven seasons.

Now: After "7th Heaven" ended, Mitchell tried her hand at singing and released a country-Christian album.

She currently recurs as a guidance counselor on the popular ABC Family drama "The Secret Life of an American Teenager".

David Gallagher as 'Simon Camden'

Then: Gallagher played the second-youngest child of the Camdens.

Like most of the Camden clan, he got into some trouble throughout the show, though he always had good intentions.

Gallagher left "7th Heaven" during the eighth season to attend University of Southern California but returned for the tenth and final season.

Now: Gallagher had some guest roles on "Bones", "Numb3rs", and "Smallville", and will play a werewolf named Ray in several episodes of "The Vampire Diaries'" upcoming third season.

He also appeared in J.J. Abrams' Super 8.

Mackenzie Rosman as 'Ruthie Camden'

Then: Ruthie, the baby of the family, was known as the family sneak.

Ruthie grew up throughout the show's eleven seasons and was a mature 17-year-old by the time "7th Heaven" ended.

Like her older sisters, Ruthie became a little boy crazy and eventually fell in love with the family's house guest Martin.

Now: Rosman took a brief hiatus from acting and graduated high school in 2007.

Photos leaked in 2008 showed Rosman posing provocatively and kissing a girl.

She has always been an active supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and continues to do work for them.

Now 21 years old, she has appeared in several episodes of ABC Family's "The Secret Life of an American Teenager".

Tyler Hoechlin as 'Martin Brewer'

Then: Tyler Hoechin played Martin, a staunchly conservative high school boy whose mother had passed away and father was serving in Iraq.

The Camdens took him in when his aunt and guardian wanted to move to New York, and he had a touch-and-go relationship with youngest daughter Ruthie.

Now: The California native graduated from high school and went on to play D1 baseball at Arizona State University.

He then transferred to UC Irvine to play infield in 2008 and had a .250 batting average.

He now co-stars in MTV's hit show "Teen Wolf", which was recently renewed for a second season.

George Stults as 'Kevin Kinkirk'

Then: Officer Kinkirk came on board as the older brother of Mary's boyfriend Ben (played by his real-life brother Geoff, who now stars on Fox's "The Finder") who immediately connected with Lucy.

The New York cop transferred to the fictional Glen Oak police force and eventually married Lucy.

Now: He recently costarred alongside TV mother-in-law Catherine Hicks in the Lifetime Movie Network film Borderline Murder.

Adam LaVorgna as 'Robbie Palmer'

Then: LaVorgna starred as Mary's boyfriend Robbie, whom she met while serving her court-mandated community service.

LaVorgna also dated Biel in real life. The couple eventually broke up (both on screen and off) but LaVorgna's character was brought back when Reverend Camden found him homeless and took him under his wing.

He then began briefly dating Lucy, who decided having her sister's sloppy seconds was weird.

Now: LaVorgna has guest starred on shows like "Law & Order: Criminal Intent", "Cold Case" and "CSI: Miami".
