11-Year-Old 'Mad Men' Co-Star Bashes His TV Mom January Jones! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

A "Mad Men" co-star came out in defense of January Jones after 11-year-old actor Jared Gilmore made some not-so-flattering comments about her, reports E! Online.

Gilmore, who played Jones' son on the AMC show before leaving for a role on another show, told TVGuide.com that he had advice for his successor: "Be careful around January Jones. She's not as approachable as the others."

Another cast member, John Slattery, later stepped up to defend Jones, E! notes. "Well, it's an intimidating character," Slattery said. "I mean, that's the character. Betty Draper is an intimidating woman, I suppose, if you were a 7-year-old boy [or] her son."

Slattery, who plays Roger Sterling on the show, also called Jones a "sweetheart," the story says.

Gilmore, who played Don and Betty Draper’s son Bobby on “Mad Men,” left the show this year for a job on the new ABC show “Once Upon a Time.” Talking about his “Mad Men” TV mom he also told TV Guide: “She’s really serious about what she does.”

And it’s apparently just her. His thoughts on the rest of the cast: “Everyone else is so nice.”

This is an old story, but one rule in Hollywood is you don't criticize your co-stars for no reason. You can get a reputation of having loose lips. Something tells me his mother or agent (or both), gave him an earful over this. "You said WHAT about January Jones?"

He'll learn.

Wow... that was pretty bold of him to say that about her, but that's his opinion I guess. BTW, Janice I love your avatar (loved the Mad Men premiere last night-I even watched it twice!), and your signature made me laugh!

I also enjoyed the show a great deal. I still wish Don and Betty were still married, but oh well.

Yeah, it was really weird to see him married to Megan. Made me think that I should write a fan fic where Betty decides she wants him back. That could be fun to write!

Loose lips sink ships!! I imagine he's probably already gotten a nice verbal smackdown from parents, agents, managers, and probably a cast member or two. What this kid did was rude and unprofessional - and uncalled for.
