It's interesting watching the latter Happy Days episodes that featured Billy Warlock as Roger's brother Flip. It appeared that Garry Marshall was trying to groom the Flip character to be another teen idol ala Scott Baio's Chachi. It didn't seem to work since Chachi and Joanie returned to the series later on and the Flip character went to where Chuck Cunningham disappeared to. Any thoughts about the Flip character?

Flip is my least favorite character on Happy Days, followed closely by Bobby.
they tried so hard to make him be a bad-ass juvenile delinquent, but it just didn't work. Also, the whole idea of all these cousins showing up was getting a little cliche - I would've preferred it if Aunt Bessie or Mother Kelp moved in with them (characters mentioned from the very first season on) - why did all the new characters have to be young-uns? they obviously needed a new focal point after Joanie and Chachi left, although I preferred the stories with Fonzie and Roger over anything that Flip and Bobby did (although Eugene and Melvin were GREAT characters that they didn't use well enough). |

There was an obvious lack of creativity on the part of the writers in the later seasons when they kept foisting all these relatives on us. Flip was just another example of this along with Roger and K.C. . Just another example of why the show should have ended when Ron Howard and Don Most left the cast.
