How do you pay tribute to an icon like Regis Philbin? You give him a a three-month goodbye celebration.

Starting Sept. 5, "Live! With Regis and Kelly" will celebrate Philbin with ongoing new segments for the "Regis Farewell Celebration Season."

Philbin will depart the series after 28 seasons in November.



Throughout the fall, "Live" will spotlight Philbin's top moments and reminisce about classic memories. The trivia staple of "Live" will be rebranded so to be nostalgia-based and the show will announce a new contest to reward long-time viewers.

Plus, some of Philbin's favorite guests will return to sit-down with the host for one last time. Also be on the look out for special messages from today's biggest stars.

On the guest front, so far Matt Damon, Stephen Moyer, Salma Hayek, Celine Dion, Jonah Hill, Seth Meyers, Gavin DeGraw, Taylor Lautner, James Marsden and Tom Selleck are booked for appearances this fall.



While there have been rumors, no official replacement for Philbin has been named.
