I know there's a movie/reunion that's called Mary and Rhoda.

My question is, will it make sense to someone who has only seen the first three seasons of Rhoda and all seven seasons of TMTMS?

I think it might be interesting to see, but I don't know if having not seen seasons 4 & 5 of Rhoda would make it confusing?

Nah, I don't think it would matter much. As long as you know that Mary and Rhoda are best friends and have a long past together, you should be good to go. They really don't reference many specific events from the old show in the movie. In fact, I think you'd be OK if you hadn't seen ANY of the Rhoda show.

I think anyone would enjoy the movie but those (of us) who are fans of the show, and have watched it closely, would perhaps savor it more.

I personally think the film was all over the place,I love MTM and Rhoda and

the film was a big let down.

You should be ok. I liked the movie, but they didn't mention any of the old newsroom gang, which was disappointing. They didn't even mention Rhoda's first marriage to Joe, so you'd be ok if you haven't seen Rhoda.
