Seeing the episodes I'm still amazed at that huge set. Alright barring the fact that the interior bears no resemblance at all to what's shown to be the interior! The living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, backyard and even Mike's den are all connected! It helped make everything real and made me want to live there as a kid. I can't think of another indoor set then or now that's as impressive. The Ponderosa house on Bonanza maybe. Credit has to be given to the art director, Bill Campbell. I found this article on Tumblr.

TBB set is great and I would love to live there for a while. I imagine smells from the kitchen travalled about a lot though as there was no door inbetween the kitchen or living room. Also, My Sister Bendict Arnold; Greg is eating pie in the kitchen and cannot see or hear Marcia and his enemy despite there being no door

My favorite sit-com houses: The Brady Bunch and Bewitched. They were so realistic. I think I was pretty old before I really comprehended that they were just "sets".

I always liked that the kids had their own little area to entertain their friends, watch TV and make toll calls. And it's so close to the backyard! If I had kids, I would want the same setup.
