Default CBS Updates 2011-12 Premiere Schedule, Delays Rules of Engagement

The eye network has made some changes to their upcoming premiere dates, including a 90-minute special kick-off for Survivor (September 14th) and a delay for the season premiere of Rules of Engagement (October 8th). The former is paired with a 90-minute season finale of Big Brother.

I saw that announcement on numerous sites (The Futon Critic, PiFeedback, etc.). Oh well, I'll enjoy the final season of the series.

If the show can maintain 5-7mil, I'm betting they'll keep pushing out seasons for syndication. I highly doubt this is an expensive show to produce.

This was known WEEKS ago. They're doing it because Oct. 1 there is a SEC game in primetime. Makes no sense to premiere Rules on Sept. 24 and then have it preempted the following week for college football.

Really?!

Haha, I don't know how in the world I missed that bit of information. Well, then CBS made the right decision. Even though they treat ROE as the ugly step-child of sitcoms, I'm sure the network is hoping to attract a Saturday audience.

If they really cared for it, they would pair it with another original sitcom. I don't expect ratings to be that great on a night filled with reruns and football.

If they beat cops in viewership i'll be happy. I'm guessing a 1.3-1.7 Rating for 18-39 viewership. I don't know what CBS is expecting out of this, and like Ryan423 Says, it can't be an expensive show to produce. CBS will just run the show a few more years even if it does awful in the ratings, Like ABC did with According to Jim and FOX did with Til' Death.
