Default Would you have shared the money in "The Treasure of Sierra Avenue"

I am with Bobby on this one-lol I don't think I would have, the girls weren't even there when they found it.

I may be in the minority here, but IMO, Bobby had no obligation to even share what he found with greg and Peter because I'm a firm believer in "finders/keepers. I also think Mike was wrong in making them put an add in the paper. I'm sorry, but if someone doesn't carry ID with them, it's up for grabs unless you actually see that person drop it. Now, I would have returned it to the owner had there been ID in the wallet, I'm honest and would like someone to do the same for me, however if it's laying there with no ID and I didn't see anyone drop it....it's mine!

It's amazing Bobby never even thought of keeping it for himself, but you are right, he did find it. I would have turned it into the police, but I wouldn't have put an ad in either. Who honestly doesn't have any ID in their wallet.

The right thing to do would be to either place an ad in the paper or take the wallet/money directly to the police.

As far as sharing with the girls, if circumstances would have allowed the Bradys to keep the money (i.e. no one ever showed up to claim it), I think the right thing to do would be to share it with the family. Certainly, if the girls had found $1,100 and refused to share it with the boys, the boys wouldn't have appreciated it one bit.

Hey, if the owner of the wallet would have put an ID in there, we wouldn't have had a show!

But I think the idea here is to teach a lesson about what to do when you find a bunch of money for which the owner can't be identified.

Not only do we get a lesson on honesty, we also get a math lesson dividing the reward-lol

I have never had this happen to me before, but I'd more than likely try to locate the owner, and if unsuccessful, give it to the police. I'd feel guilty with so much cash that wasn't mine to begin with!

And what did the girls do when the boys lost to them on the trading stamp contest? They decided to get a TV set instead of a sewing machine. Something the whole family could enjoy, including the boys. Now I admit that Carol did nudge the girls a little but it was still utimately their decision. So yes they should have shared the money---if it had became theirs.

Cool

I would have turned the wallet over to the police.

Yeah, it is amazing that never came up in the episode.

I always felt sorry for the old man who lost his walletwith all that cash in it. Maybe he should have had American Express Traveler's Checks.
