Lisa Kudrow bemused by 'Friends' 'Smelly Cat' success
Lisa Kudrow has claimed that playing Phoebe on Friends "lightened her up".
Kudrow, who is currently starring in the Showtime series Web Therapy, explained that she does not have one favorite moment from working on Friends. "There's sort of like a bigger-picture memory," she told The AV Club. "When I was playing Phoebe, the mindset was, 'Everything's OK', so that was a great attitude to adopt. "It really helped a lot. It lightened me up. That's my favorite memory of playing Phoebe, I have to say - how it just sort of seeped into the rest of my life." Kudrow also revealed that she enjoyed working with Hank Azaria, who played Phoebe's love interest David. "I loved when she was with David, the physics guy," she said. "That's Hank Azaria. I can't wait to see his new show [Free Agents on NBC]. He's so talented and fun to work with. He's hilarious. Hank's just great." However, Kudrow admitted that she has no idea why Phoebe's song 'Smelly Cat' became so popular and revealed that she gets "endless" requests to perform it for fans. "I thought some of the other songs were hilarious," she said. "I don't know why that's the only one that took off. Some of the others were really, truly funny... Not that 'Smelly Cat' wasn't [catchy], but why that one? Why not, say, 'The Cow In The Meadow Goes Moo'?" http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/news/a3...t-success.html |
