Any TV on DVD collector knows how fast a collection can build and accumulate. We buy and we buy, and it's like an addiction. The impulse that resonates when we spot a sale on a show we enjoy is indescribable! Well, I have a challenge for all of you hardcore TV on DVD collectors out there, and it requires facing the truth about your collections.
1) Make a list of all of your TV on DVD purchases... right now. Do it! 2) At the top of that list, mark today's date. 3) For the next month, whenever you pop in a DVD from this collection, put a check mark next to the box set on the list you have created. 4) One month from now, see just how many of these TV on DVD boxsets you're actually watching on a monthly basis! This challenge doesn't require you to view each disc in a boxset, but it does require you to watch at least an episode or two from a disc before checking it off! That is all! There really aren't any other rules. Nevertheless, you shouldn't just start making sure you get through each boxset just to accomplish something here. Only turn on something when you're in the mood to watch it. And please, feel free to discuss your progress in the blog's comment section below! On September 17th, exactly one month from today, I'll do a blog with my results from this little experiment. Until then, let's get this thing rolling! Are you with me? Original Article |

This sounds like a fun experiment Ryan.
My 2 bookcases/ 12 shelves is full of DVDs. Everything from All In The Family to The Untouchables with Variety Shows for good measure I can alrmost tell you my TV/DVD watching for the next month. I only watch DVDs friday saturday and sunday which is about 3-4 shows a night. The 2nd show is always Cannon. 1st might be Charlie's Angels, Starsky and Hutch etc.. 3rd will be Alfred Hitchcock Presents, a comedy show like Here's Lucy or Car 54, Where Are You? or a Variety Show like Tony Orlando and Dawn or Captain and Tennille Yes I still have a bunch of Deep Discount buy 1 get 1 free box sets that are still unwatched from a couple of years ago like Good Times, Flying Nun. |
