The CW is diving into the Carrie Bradshaw business.

The network has scooped up "The Carrie Diaries'' project -- an origins story for the central "Sex and the City" character based on the book series by Candace Bushnell -- from Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage's Fake Empire banner and Warner Bros. TV. Former "Sex and the City" scribe Amy B. Harris is onboard to adapt the books and exec produce with Schwartz and Savage.
