Exclamation "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" is Doing a Special on Russell Armstrong's Suicide

"Real Housewives" Russell Armstrong Commits Suicide
8/16/2011

Russell Armstrong, the estranged husband of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Taylor Armstrong, was found dead of an apparent suicide ...sources tell TMZ.

Our sources say Armstrong hanged himself. He was found hanging in his bedroom on Mulholland Drive.

We're told L.A. City Fire Department arrived at his home and pronounced him dead at 8:16 PM Monday.

Sources say a roommate found Russell and called 911.

We're told authorities have not found a suicide note.

Taylor filed for divorce last month, after she claimed Russell physically abused her. We're told authorities informed her of Russell's death last night.

He was 47 years old.

Story developing...

Wow, I watch that show. I didn't like the guy, but only because he was so aloof and ignored his wife. He must have been in a lot of emotional pain to do something so drastic and final. His wife is a real nice lady. Prayers for him and his loved ones.

Bravo to Air "Real Housewives" Special About Russell Armstrong's Suicide
by Catherine Lawson
posted Aug 30th 2011

"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" Season 2 premiere is still slated to air next week, despite being overshadowed by the real-life tragedy of Russell Armstrong's death.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health published Armstrong's death certificate yesterday, which confirmed that he hanged himself.

Now, it's been reported that Bravo is to air a special episode of the reality show addressing his suicide.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the network has shot interviews with cast members Lisa Vanderpump, Camille Grammer, Kyle and Kim Richards and Adrienne Maloof.

However, Armstrong's estranged wife Taylor is said to have refrained from taking part.

Armstrong's body was discovered in his home on August 15, a month after Taylor filed for divorce amid claims of verbal and physical abuse. Their volatile relationship was documented in Season 1 and featured prominently in the original Season 2 trailer, which has since been re-edited.

In an interview earlier this summer Russell hinted that the pressures of being on "Real Housewives" may have helped cause the breakdown of their marriage. He told People that the couple were filmed "during a time in our lives that was not characteristic of who we were. This show has literally pushed us to the limit."

Bravo is reportedly re-editing the content of Season 2, presumably reducing the focus on the Armstrongs' marital issues. The network has not confirmed an air date for the special episode, but is still expected to launch the second season as planned.

"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" Season 2 premieres Monday Sept. 5, 9PM ET on Bravo.

wow, that seems like a novel way to really cash in on this guy's painful experience and subsequent death caused by their show, I'm sure his family will appreciate this special and he must've wanted to be remembered like this.
