A few days ago, I started two new threads and they both generated some responses. I was very happy to have stimulated some conversation on a page that had previously seemed like a dead zone! However, in a short while the novelty of these threads wore off and we were back to the dead zone! Thinking that there might be some traffic going through this site, I thought that I might be able to stimulate some more conversation by bringing some of my old favorites to the top of the page. I tried and failed eight times as you can see! And last but not least, I started my latest thread by the name of "Fat Albert". For those who have not read it, the main purpose of this thread was to commemorate the number of views that my previous post titled "The Birth of Helen" had at the time. My "Birth of Helen" thread was yet another failed attempt to start some conversation once upon a time. It looks like I am really batting a thousand here! In any event, my "Fat Albert" thread now has twelve views and zero replies. I have decided to commemorate this reality by writing about a novel that was written twelve years ago. The novel is called "Animal Husbandry" and it was written by Laura Zigman. Have any of you guys ever heard of the book or the author? Next time I go to the library, I will see if she has written anything in the past ten or so years. At this point, I can tell you that, in the early part of this millenium, she wrote two more books both of which I have read. They are called "Dating Big Bird" and "Her". I enjoyed them. If anyone reading this has read either one, I would be very interested in hearing from you!
