TV Betty White To Guest on Lifetime's "The Client List"

Lifetime Turning The Client List Into TV Series Starring Jennifer Love Hewitt
Aug 10, 2011
by Kate Stanhope

Lifetime is adapting its 2010 film The Client List into a TV series starring and produced by Jennifer Love Hewitt, Deadline reports.

The network has ordered 10 episodes of the series, which will launch sometime next year.

In the TV movie, based on a true story, Hewitt played a Texas housewife whose husband injures his knee and can't work.

To support the family, she begins work at a day spa only to learn the business offers much more than just massages. She soon partners with the spa's disorganized owner to run the business.

It looks like the series will turn Hewitt's character into a single mom who enters the "spa" biz only after her husband abandons her.

She will struggle to balance duties as a single mom in a conservative town and her career as a determined businesswoman who must hold together a group of fiery and unpredictable employees.

Lifetime has also signed a development deal for both potential series and movies with Hewitt's production company, Fedora Films, which also include Hewitt directing an upcoming Lifetime movie.

"Beloved by viewers, Jennifer Love Hewitt is an amazing talent on and off the screen and we are very excited about continuing our relationship with her on 'The Client List'," said Lifetime Networks' president and general manager, Nancy Dubuc, told the site.

"This project falls in line with our strategy to expand Lifetime's slate with unapologetic programming that will surprise audiences."

Jordan Budde adapted the film to series, and the film's producers Dannielle Thomas, Howard Braunstein, Michael Jaffe and AJ Rinella will also executive-produce the series alongside Hewitt.

"Jordan Budde has written a show that truly reflects the spirit of the movie and I am looking forward to an amazing partnership with Lifetime as both a producer and actress," Hewitt said.

Hewitt earned her first Golden Globe nomination for her performance in The Client List, which drew 3.9 million viewers when it premiered in July 2010.

Lifetime's "The Client List" Adds Colin Egglesfield, Rebecca Field
Dec 15, 2011
by Kate Stanhope

Don't worry, Colin Egglesfield and Rebecca Field are on the list. "The Client List", that is.

The former "Melrose Place 2.0" and "October Road" residents, respectively, have joined the Lifetime series, according to Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter.

The show stars Jennifer Love Hewitt as a single mom in Texas who winds up co-running a prostitution business.

The upcoming series, which Lifetime ordered in August, is based on the 2010 Lifetime TV movie of the same name.

Egglesfield, 38, would play a new character — the brother-in-law of Hewitt's character, Riley.

Field will play her longtime best friend.

Egglesfield currently recurs on "Rizzoli & Isles" as the brother of Detective Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon).

Field most recently recurred on the now-canceled "HawthoRNe" and will guest-star in an episode of "Castle" early next year.

"Playboy Club's" Naturi Naughton Gets Hands-On With "The Client List"
Dec 19, 2011
by Hanh Nguyen

Former "Playboy Club" co-star Naturi Naughton will continue serving men, albeit in a slightly more hands-on capacity, over on Lifetime.

Naughton has been cast as a series regular for the cable channel's upcoming series "The Client List", based on its 2010 original movie starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Deadline reports.

Hewitt plays a Texas housewife who's deserted by her husband and then begins to run The Rub, a massage parlor that offers sex healing in addition to therapeutic massages.

Naughton will play Kendra, a hard-working masseuse at The Rub.

Cybill Shepherd Joins Lifetime Drama "The Client List"
1/3/2012
by Lacey Rose

Cybill Shepherd is making her return to television in a role for which she's already familiar.

The well-known actress will star opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt in Lifetime's upcoming drama, "The Client List", a drama based on the network's original movie of the same name.

The news comes some five months after Lifetime announced it would order 10 hourlong episodes of the Sony-produced project, which starred both Hewitt and Shepherd.

The drama centers on Hewitt, who will reprise her role as a housewife in a conservative Texas town. The character takes a job at a day spa to make ends meet, but quickly realizes that the parlor's employees are actually prostitutes servicing prominent members of society.

In an attempt to relieve her own financial hardships, she too turns to prostitution. Shepherd will play the part of Hewitt's mother once again.

The casting marks her first regular series role since her mid-1990s hit sitcom, "Cybill".

Betty White Books "The Client List" Season Finale Role
04/26/2012

Things are getting hotter for "Hot In Cleveland" star Betty White.

The actress will guest star on "The Client List", Lifetime's new drama starring Jennifer Love Hewitt. Based on the Lifetime movie of the same name, "The Client List" stars Hewitt as Riley, an erotic masseuse.

According to People, White will play Ruth Gibbons, the wife of one of Riley's clients. It seems White's character has some advice on how to make a marriage last.

In an interview with HuffPost TV, Hewitt revealed she will direct the finale, which White's Ruth Gibbons appears in.

White and Hewitt previously worked together on the 2011 Hallmark Hall of Fame TV movie The Lost Valentine.
