King Abdullah II of Jordan is the driving force behind an ambitious "Star Trek" theme park planned for the Middle East.
The royal, who reportedly filmed a cameo for a 1990s episode of "Star Trek: Voyager," is the main money man behind the development in Aqaba, Jordan, according to TheNational.com. The king is using cash from his Fund for Development to help investors get the project off the ground, hoping it will boost Jordan's profile as a tourist destination.
