Default Possible season five DVD edit

There's an episode in season five where the women are watching the news, and Charlene says "Did you all hear Robin Williams had an affair with his nanny?" In syndication the dialogue is dubbed so that 'Robin Williams' is replaced with 'that celebrity.' I wonder if the original dialogue will be on the DVD?

What season do the ladies impersonate Diana Ross & The Supremes? Wouldn't the rights to "A'int No Mountain High Enough" be costly?

I think I could accept a slight Robin Williams edit, but it would be interesting to see if its back!

The Supremes scene was in season four, with all songs intact.

Whew! I was a little worried about that. I still haven't got season 4.

I know Prince would not authorize one of his songs to a dvd release. What a jerk he is!

The Robin Williams bit is dubbed over on the DVD, Charlene says "Did y'all know that politician..."

Prince wouldn't authorize the song on "Come on and Marry Me Bill," but the song does appear in Tornado Watch when Mr. Pease is dancing in Reese's underwear, robe and sailor cap. There was no way to show that scene without cutting down, so at least it appeared in that episode.

Dang. That's another clip that I'll add to a DVD I'm thinking of making, with original clips of the show that aren't on any season sets.

It's dubbed over in Tornado Watch too.

I was into Prince' music in the day, but I always thought he himself was just an *8@$hole. What reason could he have to not authorize his music for dvd releases. Ever since he went through that move to be known as "a symbol", (who advised him to do that???) I realized he was a total jerk.

I remember one time a bunch of musical superstars went up on stage to re-inact USA For Africa's We Are The World at some musical awards show. Everybody was singing their heart out except Prince, who was standing there licking a big lolly-pop. Who knows why he was even up there, if he was just going make a mockery of the whole thing!! Maybe I just don't understand his personality, but I've never been impressed with him at all!

That sucks! I gotta say, they did a good job of making the music "sound" like a Prince song in that scene. I guess when they rerun those two episodes on TV Guide, I will have to check it out.

I actually found a season TWO edit i was not aware of.
In "101 ways to decorate a gas station", there should be a short clip during the end credits of that guy walking over to a chair and sitting down, to the tune of "Ain't misbehavin", but the DVD uses a freezeframe of him and the cast during the photo shoot.

Yes, the freezeframe is the way it was shown on CBS too, and I saw the other version either in syndication or on Lifetime. Weird

Why did they change the line for syndication? Did Mork threaten them with a lawsuit...?

Good question Most sitcoms don't mind dating themselves with topical references, so you may be right!
