As a Vikings fan, I am heartbroken over this, Randy has to be the most exciting player in the NFL and he has gave the Vikings 7 wonderful years of memories! He had a incredible career and he is a future hall of famer, I wish he gotten his super bowl ring! I wish Randy the best of luck in his retirement!

I know, it is really hard to believe that it flew by so fast, 13 years later he retires! *Sigh*

I hate stories like this because it confirms I'm a old man. I mean I know he wasn't going to play forever but the fact that he is 34 had me believing he had atleast 3 years left.

Then again, Brett Favre said he'd retire, too - so I'm taking this news with a grain of salt.

Randy is done for good, he just can't get paid anymore. Moss would gladly come back if there was a team willing to pay him $5 million per year, but there's no teams that showed much interest in him and nobody would pay near that much. Moss has enough money and pride that he's not going to agree to a veteran minimum salary deal, which is about what he could get after his performance last year

For what he is expected to do I think he has no choice but to retire. So I doubt if you see a comeback

I'm still mad at Jerry Jones for not taking him in the draft. All indications were he was going to the Cowboys but Jerry was in one of his "no troubled players on the boys" rants and we picked Greg Ellis instead.

It is funny to see that some Cowboys fans still think if they have drafted Randy, they would have multiple championships, the Vikings drafted Randy, no multiple championship so what makes them think that if Dallas drafted Randy, they would have multiple championships?

I don't know if it would have changed anything but it would have made the Dave Campo years bearable.

It would have, probably would have went from 5-11 to 8-8, maybe better but they would not have won mulitple championships, 1 player would not win you multiple championships, it is a team sport

The thing is though that at the time Moss was drafted, The Cowboys were still a veteran team that had won 3 SBs. A WR like that might have been the difference then. Because we didn't draft Moss, Jerry spent two #1 draft picks a couple years later on Joey Galloway who immediately got hurt in his first game with us and was lost for the season. He was never anything but mediocre. I think things might have been different. Heck the Cowboys should have went 8-8 a few times during Campo's years. We lost a few games because our FG kicker was awful. And now that same FG kicker is in Baltimore and is just coming off a pro-bowl. That's life as a football fan. lol
