Default Is there an Unsolved Mysteries soundtrack?

If there isn't, there should be. I like all the background music, the cheery feel-good ones and even some of the scary ones.

We all probably wish there was. can you believe the man who composed for UM used to do New Age music?? talk about a contrast! :/

I refuse to watch the Spike UM because all of the segments are cut, the music & graphics suck, and god bless Farina but he is dull as a host.

I recently learned how to "take out" vocals in music and leave the soundtrack...using a program called audacity that's free. I wonder if it would work for the UM music. It would be horrible quality because the original movie recordings were horrible quality, but it might work.

I don't care for the new music, the 1987-2002 stuff with Robert Stack is what I'm referring to. A soundtrack definitely should've been made.

There are a couple of older UM music tracks available on iTunes. Not sure if any of them are what you're looking for but they are there. Just search for unsolved mysteries in the iTunes store.

I posted this thread about a month ago with no luck. It doesn't look like there is an album or even downloadable content from the segments. It's really sad because I loved the music they used back in the late 80's.

Hi 1990 UM fan, I found out the Theme music's composed by Mchael Boyd and Gary Remal Malkin and as for the rest of the music Gary Malkin again comes up in the credits for 1990 episode. Yeah there's no album, Um's not a film but there's plenty of Gary's work on youtube

Goodness I hope not. As much as I love the show, I HATE the music. Imagine going to sleep to that at night!

Someone should rip it and try to remix it, do something funky with it....

Or not. Heh. Anywho, I think if you really wanted to you could rip the music from....ahem...sources for your own personal soundtrack. We could whip one up for the underground UM Fans, with full credit given.

i've toyed with the idea of making a 'fan inspired soundtrack' to some of my favorite unsolved mysteries episodes.

i did one for the patricia meehan case

It is impossible to find any tracks from Unsolved Mysteries from late 80s-early 90s in CD quality online. It's all in-house music that was produced (which is why they were used so repeatedly over the years) and Cosgrove owns the rights, so it's highly unlikely they will ever become available on iTunes or something. You can try to rip audio and remove vocals off cases posted online, but a lot of the video of UM out on the internet is very low quality. The best bet anyone really would have is to take the DVD releases, rip the audio/video in high quality, and edit/attempt to remove vocals from cases/songs people like.

Hi I composed a track called Redwood around this time last year which has a similar Gothic vibe to UM (I was watching it a the time) Most of my music is more New Age though but this track would work well for a fan inspired soundtrack.

Ahh but Gary Malkin composes mainly New Age stuff and of the lighter middle of the road style to boot. I love Eno etc and his stuff (Gary) is perhaps a little to bland but his piano tracks are great and they do remind me of his work on Unsolved Mysteries.

P.S. Perhaps a soundtrack to a specific case is a little disrespectful to those involved as well as being too obscure for most fans, However an unsolved mysteries soundtrack inspired perhaps by the early years 1987-2002 or Robert Stack era is a great idea.
