He was on an episode of Golden Girls where he played a detective. He was also on a few episodes of Mama's Family as Thelma's night school teacher. I liked him in those ones.

He fit the role of Ed Cooper very well but him and Bonnie Franklin did not look compatible. It looks like Ann got married just to get out from under her parents. There was a significant age difference between those two and it showed on the show.

he is one of my all time fave actors he can do both comedy and drama very well he also tried his hand and being a game show host when he hosted this is your life during the 1983/84 season

He sure does, Monika! He had a role on Days of Our Lives as Harper Deveraux, who was Jack Deveraux's estranged father. BTW Jack was of course played by the wonderful Matthew Ashford! There was an amazing storyline back in the 90's where Jack kills Harper after he finds him up in the church bell tower just minutes away from attempting to kill his older son, Steve and his soon to be wife, Kayla at their wedding. Joseph Campanella is just a wonderful actor and I had no idea that he was so popular until my husband told me about some of his background.
