Lionsgate is re-releasing the complete series set of Little House On The Prairie, with new extras, including the pilot movie.
I've never purchased anyLHOTP releases, because once I hear they use syndicated prints of any series, I boycott, with hopes they'll eventually go back and do it RIGHT! This is Lionsgate's 3rd chance. If they don't use the original broadcast eppy's, then they shouldn't even waste their time! I won't be buying it! And I really would like to own this series, too! |

I'm watching Little House On The Prairie for the first time. I'm watching it on dvd through Netflix. I have watched the first season and am currently halfway through season 2.
So Lionsgate released the series three times? Just how much was cut out? That's a shame if the episodes are edited. Most of them seem to average 45-48 minutes, which is really good. Now days, your lucky if a hour long show is 42 minutes in length. I know Hallmark is airing the series, but I'm guessing they probably cut out about 8 or 10 minutes extra for commercials? Just a guess on my part. I have nothing against the Hallmark channel. |

Yes, 3 times! The individual seasons were released, then the Complete Series, twice. The first box set includes the follow-up movies but not the original pilot. The second includes the pilot, but not the follow-up movies. I guess there are different extras with the 2 box sets.
I hope they try again a fourth time and release the entire series with original broadcast episodes, the pilot, and the movies (including the series finale) in ONE box set. |
