Default Stepping Into the Time Machine With Lisa!! (Part 9)

The driver dropped me off in Panorama City, the other side of San
Fernando Valley where I had come before. And after visiting a Tower Records store at the mall where they featured posters of some unknown band called Guns 'n' Roses, I trudged on...and soon, there it was, the Church on the Way. I went in as a singles and relationships seminar was going on. I liked the speaker, so I decided to come back for the next few nights. Seemed like something was always going on there.
The next day, a Friday, I decided to take a leisurely stroll from Van Nuys to...Hollywood. I paced through the long blocks into Sherman Oaks and all the stores, then down Ventura Blvd down onto Lankershim and past Dodger Stadium and into-- HOLLYWOOD... Down there off Hollywood Blvd., I had found a store that had the MOTHERLODE OF FACTS PHOTOS--Hollywood Collectables. I was in heaven: every conceivable pose: b/w stills from the show, b/w and color group and singles shots--and a VIRTUAL PLETHORA OF LISA PHOTOS!! I was disappointed that I could only afford two: one with the girls in a group photo in Paris, and the other of Lisa in a current pose holding up a photo of herself in her Eastland uniform. They also had stacks of scripts
from back t.v. shows--I feverishly tried to find one of Facts. After making my purchases, I headed back to Van Nuys. I came back to
church in time for that night's seminar and enjoyed it. But that night, even though I had felt earlier a peace about missing Lisa's concert, I now felt rather bitter and frustrated about it once more.
I felt very let down again. I began to doubt that there was any real purpose to my little thousand mile journey except to dispel my fanciful whims. In searching for Blair Warner's hair care kit I would find no real brush with greatness. As soon as I had gotten into L.A. a few days earlier, I scanned the faces in every teriyaki
shop, every doughnut stand, thinking that I would see Lisa's face there, but of course I was mistaken. At the church, sifting through the throng of faceless drones, my visual search would turn up no sign of her either. I was just as well. After tomorrow,
Saturday, I would wrap it up, head back home, and call it a summer.

Default Re: Boring everyone with my Time Machine

To NMK4Ever,
Sorry if I have taken so long to go through a whole BORING long story about my summer in '87. I should have condensed it, but there was a lot going on that I thought would be interesting...well, it was to me, but... All I can say is...READ ON.

Hmmmm,,,interesting fantasy life you lead there.

First off,, you would never pass Dodger Stadium on your way from Van Nuys to Hollywood since it is located in Echo Park.

Secondly,,it would take a VERY LONG time to walk from Van Nuys to Hollywood,,hardly what I would call a stroll.

Default Thanks for correcting

To Michele35, thank you for correcting my error. You're right, I did NOT pass Dodger's Stadium, I meant to say that I passed THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL!! And of course, Van Nuys to Hollywood is NOT a stroll, I was being IRONIC!! If you mean by a wild fantasy life that I'm just making all this up, I'm not. If you mean that I have this crazy way of telling a story, thank you! If anyone thinks I'm making this up, remember--Truth is stranger than fiction--or in this case, SCIENCE fiction!!
