Default Will these 2 sitcoms ever be completely gone from syndication?

Good Times and Sanford and son?

Why do these shows still perform well in syndication when both are complete on DVD? I mean year after year these same two shows seem to just keep gaining more viewers while shows like

The Jeffersons can't seem to do well in no timeslot

Some people don't want to buy an entire set of DVDs. It's cheaper to just watch the stuff on TV, which is a particular concern if you are strapped for cash, as most of us are these days.

I don't get it at all. I prefer the Jeffersons over both shows. I do like Good Times, but I can't even sit through five minutes of Sanford & Son.

I find it cheaper to just purchase the DVDs. I scan the pages and websites for the bargains, and each weekend I go "Garage Sailing" in search of CHEAP Movies and TV Series to add to my collection. I've found entire TV Series for as litle as ONE BUCK! (Including several that are OOP!)

Who ever said those 2 shows do any better in syndication than other older shows? I mean just because BS stations like tv land run them all the time means nothing.Alot of older good classic tv shows would do great in syndication, probably much better than those 2 shows.

If those two shows been in reruns for an entire decade whether it was cable or local, it's obvious they get high viewership. Do you think those two shows would be on the air for so many years if people wasn't watching?

Jeffersons has been on in 2000 to 2002, then again in 2006 and then aired only once.

Those two shows have been on 11 straight years and aired 4 times a day

I imagine that they are barter shows. That is, shows that the channels get for free, in exchange for packaged advertising from the distributor.

One big problem is many of the older shows that are no longer seen on TV aren't on DVD either so we have no way to see them again. There are SO many I'd love to watch again.

Well here in Memphis, Sanford and Son aired on WHBQ FOX 13 from September 2004-December 2006 and then on on WLMT CW 30 beginning in January 2007 where it is today. I don't recall Good Times airing here recently. WLMT CW 30 just picked up the Jeffersons in September and I'm really glad to see it since it's not on Antenna TV. What's strange is that Sanford and Son airs at 10:30 PM on both WLMT 30 and Antenna TV which I also get. I like all three of them but The Jeffersons would have to be my favorite of the three. I have been a little disappointed in my local channel because they have skipped some episodes and repeated some episodes, but I guess it's still better than TV Land because it's not edited so bad.

I will start recording the jeffersons in a couple of weeks when season 7 starts on TV One but I probably won't get to complete all the eps from season 7 to 11 because they will skip holiday episodes
