I'm not African American, but I find it odd too. I was surprised that no one who responded to the race question is Black. Actually, I was kind of disappointed

Hey ThomasE...I got a question for you. I dunno if you celebrate Kwanza or not, but if you do, my question is-

What do the colors of the candles stand for? I knew but I seem to have forgotten. I'm just wondering because I'm very interested in African American History and culture and stuff...

i would never judge someone by the color of their skin...for 2 reasons...

1. cause it's just..wrong!

2. since my mom's so racist...it bothers me and i dont wanna grow up 2 be like that

Hi FOLrocks1! I believe you when you say you're not trying to be mean, but it never occurred to me to wonder about anybody's race on this board until I saw this thread.

For what it's worth, I'm a middle aged White guy.....hopefully that doesn't make any difference to anybody reading the things I've posted here over the last several months (it shouldn't).

People in this country keep saying that we should live in a "color-blind" society - but then a lot of those same people seem to make it a point to mention someone's race at every possible opportunity (I'm not talking about you, FOLrocks1 - just people in general). We all need to just relax - take people as you find them, and don't try so hard to be "Politically Correct" all the time.
