Default Seriously,Why isn't there a Turner Classic type station for classic tv shows?

Maybe this has been asked before,I don't know.....Why isn't there a television station that airs classic 1950s-70s television shows, even some 1980s shows, uncut and commercial free.I know it would be very successful, millions of people would love it.I don't understand why there are all these classic MOVIE stations(a good thing) on cable like TCM,Fox classic movies etc.,yet NOT even one classic commercial free tv station, aside from 'The Western Channel' who show both classic westerns and movies. I mean I really like stations such as Antenna-tv(so far),but it's not the same thing.

Thats actually a good idea but the thing is that as has its been said before on the forum, these executives dont give a damn about classic tv anymore. Look at Nick at Nite, TV Land and anything else. They feel classic tv is dead. I totally disagree about that. They are the ones making it dead. I do agree, though, if someone started a channel like that, I think it would flourish.

The great thing about a channel like that is that it wouldn't be beholden to the whims of advertisers. That's why no one wants to run older shows - they can't get any advertisers as they all want 18-49 and anything that skews older they aren't interesting in putting ads on. But there are far too many people who don't give a damn and will watch shows cut to 20 minutes and not complain. Just read these boards. How many people watch series cut to shreds on TV that are available complete and uncut on DVD? You read posts here from people who are thrilled that some network is airing Three's Company or Good Times or some other show that's been out on DVD for years. The short answer is most viewers are morons who don't even know the difference and don't care.

I think it sounds like a great idea. And like TCM, they could have a host who comes out before each episode and gives the viewer some background information and some trivia.
