Question Were You On Any Sports Teams In School?

Were you on any sports teams in school?

I wasn't, but my brother was. He was on the varisty swim team for all four years of high school. He had a light blue letterman jacket. His teammates nicknamed him "Lurch" because he was tall and had big feet.

Varsity Bowling

I tried out freshman and sophomore year and didn't make it.

I then made the team by default junior year because one of the teammates moved within a month of starting school, so I was next in line.

Since I was then already on the team I was automatically on for senior year.

I played basketball all three years of Middle School (6th, 7th, and 8th grade) but I didn't get into the games too much. I was a good shooter but I wasn't very fast or big.

I played HS baseball Sophomore, Junior and Senior years. I started the last two years, and I played first base. I was a good fielder and a so/so hitter; never hit for power but I usually got on base somehow, via walk, HBP, error, or base hit.

I never played any sports, but I did the stats for the varsity baseball team in my last two years of high school.

Basketball for all 4 years in high school

My friends who played football and baseball kept bugging me to play on those teams as well, but I really just did not want to commit the time to them. I was involved in some other activities (lots of church stuff, for example) and I didn't want to live at the school.

I think that if I had it to do over again, I think I would have played football as well. The team won a state title one year, and that would have been a great thing to be a part of.
