The First (Official) Amazing Spider-Man Teaser Trailer (VIDEO)
By Alex Suskind Posted Jul 20th 2011 Eat your heart out bootleggers, because we have the first official teaser of The Amazing Spider-Man. After a grainy version found its way onto the internet yesterday (and a few other places today), the studio decided to push the release date of the trailer up to today. http://blog.moviefone.com/2011/07/20...r-man-trailer/ |

It looks good but I'm just not ready for another origin story this soon. I'll still see it though.

When I heard that Spider-Man 4 got scrapped and they were going to reboot the series I was like "What?" but now having seen the teaser trailer to the film a few times I have to say I am getting really excited about this film. Especially when I hear, that it is following more to the comic book. Now, I have never read the comics but I have been told a few things about it and it sounds awesome and makes me even more pumped up for this!
As for the actor who is playing "The Amazing Spider-Man" I have seen Andrew Garfield in one film and that was the "Social Network" I thought his acting in it was good but the film was very boring. Too many cuts back and forth between the past and present. Anyway, after the last three films they needed someone fresh and new to take over as the role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Toby Maguire was a good Spider-Man but even the most hardcore fan has to admit by the third film he was looking kinda old and considering how young his character was suppose to be that was not a good thing. |

Something else I really think is interesting about the reboot of this film is that they went back and redesigned the "Spider-Man" costume making more traditional to the comic book. Now like I said before, I have never read the comics or even watched the animated tv series but I really do think this suit looks interesting. A lot of fans of the franchise don't like the change and would rather see the costume that Toby Maguire wore in the other three films. Now I admit that it doesn't compare to his suit, one has to admit that it is still very crafted for this film. It looks a lot more simple than the one that Toby fashioned. Another matter I would like to discuss is the fact the actors they had chosen to be Uncle Ben and Aunt May. Though Martin Sheen and Sally Field would not have been my first choice I think they would look more qualified to play the role of Peter Parker's Aunt and Uncle. In original Aunt May and Uncle Ben looked to me like they could be grandparents. Not his Uncle and Aunt so I think it will be interesting to see how they play their roles. They should be great they both have been in show business for years and are obviously professional so I have high hopes that they will pull their characters off sucessfully. Final but certainly not least is Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey. Now I have not seen Emma in any movies but I know she is quite good in her acting. I am just more surprised they did not cast her as Mary Jane Watson instead of Gwen Stacey but oh well. I look forward to see the chemistry between these two actors and if they can manage to come off as a believable couple much like Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst in the previous films. This is yet another matter that should prove quite interesting. Though I do hope eventually Mary Jane will enter the series I don't know if they will have her and Peter fall in love or keep them simply as friends but whatever they choose to happen I will still see it. PS: Before I end this post I just want to let those who are hardcore fans and are pumped up to see this film I just a little ago found that even though they are currently still in production of this fim they are already in the works of writing a sequel to it. Exciting right? |

1) Tobey Maquire? Nope.
2) Sam Raimi? Nope. 3) Compelling need or logic to "reboot" a series less than a decade old? Nope. 4) My interest? Nope. |

I believe this one is based on The Web Of Spiderman comic that focus' on the High School Peter Parker and his first love Gwen Stacy.

New Amazing Spider-Man Teaser Poster Debuts (Photo)
12/10/2011 by Borys Kit Columbia Pictures quietly slid out a new teaser poster for the movie, which opens July 3, 2012. The poster, which debuted on Superhero Hype, is simple but effective, but more importantly, is consistent with comics iconography of having shadows reveal the true soul or identity or whatever the artists wants of a character. It's an effect used from Batman comics to Spider-Man comics and it's used here to show that the man crawling up the stone wall is ... Spider-Man. And it also makes a point to stand apart from the Sam Raimi-directed movies, whose posters slickly had the Arach-Knight stuck or perched to a glass skyscraper. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hea...-poster-272120 |

I am glad that they are trying to differentiate themselves from the Sam Raimi films and give like you said more of a that comic-book look to it. This is very well done and makes me look forward to the film even more!

"The Amazing Spider-Man" Official Trailer Hits the Web (Video)
2/7/2012 by Erin Carlson The trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man has landed online following a preview in theaters Monday night. The Sony Pictures would-be blockbuster, slated for release July 3 in 3D, stars Andrew Garfield as closet superhero Peter Parker, Emma Stone as love interest Gwen Stacy and Denis Leary as her father, who also happens to be a police lieutenant on the hunt for the "vigilante" Spider-man. Also co-starring: Sally Field, Martin Sheen and Rhys Ifans as the villain Lizard. Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) directs, and from we've seen from the trailer, the result is a lot of high-action special effects and some real chemistry between Garfield and Stone, who sparked a romantic relationship off-camera. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hea...a-stone-287596 |
