Post If you have any Columbia House Tapes Please Read & Answer

I thought it'd be a good idea to start a thread like this. As someone asked earlier, Columbia House sometimes releases all episodes of a series and sometimes just releases a certain # of volumes. Anybody out there who is familiar with their sets, please post how many episodes the various series have. I'd be espically interested to know how many volumes are in their "I Dream of Jeannie" and "Beverly Hillbillies" sets. Here are the ones I know of:

I Love Lucy- 60 Volumes, All Episodes (Now re-releasing on DVD)
Gilligan's Island- 20 Volumes
The Flintstones- 20 Volumes
Andy Griffith- 20 Volumes, maybe more in the future

I bought the entire "Brady Bunch" set a few years ago, and it was 10 volumes. I don't know if they've added any more volumes since then.

Every Monkees episode is included. What really suckes is that there are only 10 volumes of Adam-12. 44 episodes? Ripoff.

I can answer part of your question. Typically they charge $4.95 for your first volume (plus shipping), then $19.95+shipping=24.95 for each subsequent volume. They usually ship one every 4-6 weeks. If you ask they WILL allow you to buy an entire 10 volume series at once. Doing it this way costs about $200 if my math is correct (they charge the same prices as above, but reduce the shipping to a flat $15 rate)

Question

So are you saying that if I called CH and asked them to send me the entire A-12 library, they would for $200?

I guess I cannot help. I don't collect videos or CDs of old TV shows, but it seems there is quite a bit I don't understand and will keep an eye on this thread to learn about.
"Volumes"? It seems it means something different than what it would mean in any other context. Does "Volume" refer to each tape or CD?

This is a 16-year old thread that someone has revived, and Columbia House has been through bankruptcy and fraud investigations since then. They don't seem to sell tapes any more, and I can't imagine any professional company still does. I'm not even sure if it's the same company anymore, as it seems the name is just licensed to some other company.
Now that is really interesting. I did not think that tapes are NOT sold anymore.
Does it mean that "Unprofessional" companies only sell them?
