Default What are some of your favorite lines Mary said?

Mary usually didn't have the funniest lines but sometimes she could really deliver a one liner. Which ones can you remember that you liked? One of my faves is when she tells Lou that he needs to lose weight and he keeps giving her a hard time and he comes over to her house for a party. It went like this

Lou: So Mary, tell me, do you think a single raw carrot would put any more ugly fat on me?

Mary: Not if you stuck it in your nose

and she always had a quick witted response to Sue Ann that usually went over her head.

Sue Ann: I've never taken no for an answer

Mary: Or given it

Also one of my favorite eps is Marriage Minneapolis Style when Ted proposes to Georgette and then freaks out. He tries to get Mary to lie to Georgette and say he's going to Brazil. To get back at him for being a jerk Mary makes him think they are really sending him and tries to scare him about what coudl happen there.

I completely forgot about that line and it was a classic. It is from the episode, "Mary's Delinquent" when she and Sue Ann become big sisters to two "troubled" teenage girls. Mary is talking to Murray and he tries to tell her that these girls have experienced things she knows nothing about from her sheltered midwest upbringing. So she says "I've been around." and he looks at her or something and she says, "Okay so maybe I haven't been around but I've been nearby."

I loved Mary's Freudian slip when she introduced her vertically-challenged date to Rhoda as Eric "Shrimp". OOOOPS.

I like it when Phyllis gets Mary so angry by doing nothing as Mary's assistant that Mary keeps forgetting people's names and Murray has to remind her of his name.

Sue Ann (to Ted): Ted, flesh colored walls needn't look naked. How about hanging plants and throw rugs?

Mary: How about hanging rugs and throwing plants?

A lot of great ones have been posted already, but this one just popped into my head, from "Love is All Around." (Which I've seen enough times to have memorized, trust me!)

Mary:If you push me, I might just have to push back.....hard!
Rhoda(Laughs):Come on, you can't carry that off!
Mary:I know.

It doesn't seem funny when you read it, but the way they said it was hilarious!
