It's sad. He's up there with Freddie & Jack now. So many folks on our show are dying... All that's left alive is Mando & Della & I guess Raul & Charro...

A a link to a YAHOO news story on his death:

http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/ap/2002...hreiber_1.html

Avery Schrieber was in the 60's show MY MOTHER THE CAR in which Jerry Van Dyke bought an old Porter car which his mother had been reincarnated into & his mom as the car would talk to him. The mom was played by An SOuthern. I used to watch that as a kid I wish I'd taped it when they shoed it on TVLAND a few yrs back. It was a good show...

Saw on ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT where Shelly Winters who played Shirley Shrift the lady who ran the bakery & dated Ed was in relly bad health & not doing to well...

It just hit me 2 folks from CATM died in the same month but yrs apart. Strange...

Sad

I'm sorry to hear that Avery Schreiber has passed. Freddie and Avery were such funny comedians on the CATM show. As for Shelly Winters........ I'm really crazy about her. I hope her health gets better.

Sad

I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Avery Schreiber. I immediately remembered the episodes he did on CATM. He seemed to truly enjoy his work throughout his life.

I suspect that there is a great reunion taking place in heaven right now.

Rest in peace Mr. Schreiber.

That is very sad about Avery Schreiber. I remember him in the Fritos corn chip commercials when I was a kid. He played the Frito Bandito. He was a funny, funny man.
On another note...Dave Thomas...from Wendy's restaurant fame also past away yesterday morning from liver cancer in his home in Florida. They said on the news, and I was not aware of this, but he was adopted (I was too) and when he got older and had more $$$ he started an adoption foundation...he believed that every child deserved a home. That really touched me.

So sorry to hear about our gypsy man. He was a very funny guy. I too remember him from the Frito commercials. We can take comfort in knowing he has Freddie and Jack beside him.
So many of our Freddie's friends are with him now, Louie, Jack, Avery. I wonder what ever happened to the mail girl. I dont think I have seen her on anything since CATM. Was her name Merna (on the show I mean)?

That is my ALL-TIME favorite scene! I had never seen that episode until I recorded it and I never laughed so hard when I finally did see it. I'll bet Mable kept messing up the scene on purpose just to be able to do it again and again...I would have.

Talking

I would've messed up the scene too and I would've told Freddie "Hey Freddie we need to rehearse"!
