Default Wonder why they never updated the video footage for the Queens area

I found out that the footage in the opening credits was from the late 60's and surprised that it was never updated even after the show had been on the air for 6 or 7 years. I mean it was 1978 and they were still using 10 year old footage-lol

BTW: It was the same thing with Maude, opening credits was from the 60's

I always thought the house they zoomed in on at the end of the opening was supposed to be the Bunkers house, but it didn't have a porch and the Bunker house had a big porch.

Just noticed the World Trade Center Buildings are not seen in downtown NYC which proved the footage was outdated for that time and the footage was from the 1960's.

If you see the house now it hasn't really changed all that much, I think they added siding to the house, so the house is a different color, that's about it. If you look across the street from the house there is a Cemetery.

I do remember seeing the house on this board and it's like a orange color.

No, it's more of a blue color. You can find it on Google maps. Here's the address if you want to take a look. 89-70 Cooper Ave, Queens, New York 11374

I just looked at Google maps and saw what you were talking about.

Looking at the opening credits now and it makes sense now why the camera stayed so focused on one side of the street-lol I always thought it was houses on the opposite side of the street

That is one thing that I could never do, and that is live across the street from a Cemetery. If you live across from a Cemetery your mortgage should be dirt cheap. Night of the Living Dead (the 1990 one) messed me up for life

I was 9 when I went to the movies and saw Night of The Living Dead. because of that movie I could never live by, across or near a Cemetery and live a peaceful life. It would be a very creepy and depressing place to live. Believe me, I am depressed enough, I don't need any help LOL.
