Arnold Schwarzenegger Ends Acting Hiatus With Last Stand
By Sharon Knolle Posted Jul 11th 2011 Cancel that hiatus: Arnold Schwarzenegger is back. Again. The Governator will make his post-political return to acting with the western The Last Stand, according to Deadline, but his paycheck reportedly won't be as big as it was before his cheating scandal broke. At one point, Schwarzenegger's salary was $12.5 million, nearly half the film's current $30 million budget. An unnamed Lionsgate executive swears investing in Arnold is still a great idea: "I can tell you from 'The Expendables,' it was electrifying when Arnold came on. He is still a big piece of news." "It's a property which a zillion directors fell in love with: the good, the bad, the weird," the executive says. "It's an old-fashioned Western specifically designed for a 63-year-old broken-down guy with a moral decision whether Arnold decides to stand up for his town. We always needed an iconic figure for it." The long-in-development project will mark the English-language debut of director Jee-woon Kim, whose Korean-language films include I Saw the Devil, and A Tale of Two Sisters. Liam Neeson had been attached to the project at one point and was sold to overseas investors with him as the star. The film is now reportedly set for a September production start. http://blog.moviefone.com/2011/07/11...th-last-stand/ |

And I'm sure plenty of people will be boycotting it after his latest scandal.
Does he deserve to be forgiven for his recent scandal? Hell no! Not for an eternity. |
