Movie "Sherlock Holmes 3" Already in Development

Two New Posters for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
By Aiden Redmond
Posted Jul 11th 2011

Warner Bros. has released the first two posters for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, the upcoming sequel to 2009's Sherlock Holmes starring Robert Downey Jr. as the titular sleuth of legend and Jude Law as his brawny sidekick, Watson, and once again directed by Guy Ritchie.

This time around, the story will follows Holmes and Watson as they go up against their arch-rival Professor Moriarty with the help of Holmes' older brother, Mycroft, and a gypsy woman named Sim.

Joining the cast is Jared Harris as Moriarty, Stephen Fry as Mycroft, and Noomi Rapace as Sim.

It is set for a December 16 release and the first trailer is now set to premiere before Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

First Look at Villain Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
By Sharon Knolle
Posted Jul 12th 2011

At long last, Moriarty revealed! We're just now seeing Sherlock Holmes' nefarious foe, as embodied by Jared Harris, in new photos from the upcoming Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

Harris (son of the late Richard Harris), has shown his flair for silky villainry before, but we're really looking forward to see him as the mysterious Moriarty.

"He's one of the greatest villains in literary history," director Guy Ritchie says. "It seemed like he should play a bigger part this time around."

First Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows Trailer: Downey Does Drag
By Sharon Knolle
Posted Jul 12th 2011

The first official, high-quality trailer has just debuted on iTunes and yes, Robert Downey, Jr.'s in drag. My, what a lovely bonnet!

There are snowy battlefield scenes, a lengthy train sequence, lots of explosions and threats from Moriarty.

Warner Bros. Hires Scribe for Sherlock Holmes Threequel
10/23/2011
by Borys Kit

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows doesn’t open until December 16, but Warner Bros. is already planning the next installment of the period detective adventure movies.

The studio has hired Drew Pearce, the creator of the British superhero TV satire "No Heroics", to pen a script for what would be the third Sherlock Holmes creation.

The hiring of a writer this early (and in anticipating that the movie will be a hit) mirrors the hiring of Michele and Kieran Mulroney to work on Holmes 2 about three months before the first Holmes came out in December 2009.

Pearce is a scribe on the rise. He is writing Iron Man 3 for Marvel Studios (so the new Holmes project would reteam him with Downey) and Paramount’s adaptation of DC Comics’ The Mighty.

Pearce is repped by WME.
