Default The Jeffersons should have stayed on All in the Family

And by that I mean before the George Jefferson Era where you only saw Lionel and Louise and sometimes Henry. That way Lionel could have remained on the show and making interactions with Archie funny. The Lionel character got lost in the transition from AITF to the Jeffersons and was not able to outsine Sherman Hemsley. But i'm really enjoying his interactions with Archie during season 2 it's very funny. Why did Sherman Hemsley have to spoil everything with his TALENT?-lol

So let me get this straight, you wanted the Jeffersons to stay in Queens and not "Move On Up" to the Eastside?

The Jeffersons Family before Sherman Hemsley was introduced. I just liked how they all played so well off of Archie especially Lionel. Sherman Hemsley's character didn't play well off of him too well and clashed with him instead. He was mainly ANGRY in his presence unlike Louise and Lionel which is why they had no choice but to spinoff off the Family. That's the same reason Bea Arthur character was spinned off because the character clashed with Archie.

Lionel was definately a better character on AITF. However AITF survived just fine and The Jeffersons might have been the best spinoff of a sitcom of all time. I think it was a win-win.

The Jeffersons IS the greatest sitcom EVER imo with 3's Company and Fresh Prince close behind.

There is NO WAY Jeffersons should not have spun off. They could've had George and Lionel and Louise make occasion guest appearances on AITF though.

George/Lionel and Louise did appear on AITF after the Jeffersons spun off. George and Lionel appear together, and then George guest starred alone in 1978 and Louise made guest appearance on a AITF in 1979.

Cool, I didn't know that. Makes sense since they are both Norman Lear shows.

You know how many times any one of the Jeffersons guest starred on AITF?
