something Seems Wrong with the MeTV Version of MTM - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

KDOC channel 56 in Los Angeles is now airing MeTV on one of their sub channels. I turned it on yesterday halfway through an episode of The Mary Tyler Moore Show and they were airing the season 2 episode where Rhoda's mother wanted to be pals with Rhoda. I just watched this episode on DVD a last week and yesterday something didn't seem quite right with it. After a few minutes it hit me that they are speeding up the episode. It's pitch corrected so everyone talks faster but not at a higher pitch. I had to turn it off because it became disturbing to watch it this way.

Did I imagine this or has anyone else noticed it? Would you rather watch a sped up full episode or an edited real time episode the way TV Land used to hack them up? It's probably just a matter of time until they do both to squeeze in more commercial time.

I think I'll stick to watching the DVDs whenever I want a MTM fix!

Speeding it up when Nancy Walker is on can't be a bad thing if it gets her off the screen quicker.

The speeding up used to be pretty noticeable in almost all of MeTV's shows at certain points. But I think they've started using different prints in the last few months because it's pretty hard to tell now.

Also why did they skip the finale? Tonight they started over with the pilot. I've never seen it and was really looking forward to it. First MeTV skips the whole final season of Bob Newhart and now this
