It looks as if RTV has changed the shows they air. These are all gone from my local affiliate:
Marcus Welby, M.D. Alfred Hitchcock Hour Suspense Theater A-Team Knight Rider Ironside Airwolf Kojak Adam-12 Dragnet Emergency! McHale's Navy Leave It To Beaver Buck Rogers in the 25th Century among many others. All of those shows and any references to them are gone from their website and the "Shows" page is blank. The schedule now has I Spy, Bill Cosby Show, Daniel Boone, Starsky & Hutch, The Saint, Cold Case Files, Da Vinci's Inquest, Police Story, Zorro, Route 66, "Movin' On" (?), Robin Hood, Celebrity Kitchen, and some other stuff. Weekends have a lot of stuff that doesn't even have to do with classic TV. A show entitled Steel Dreams (a show about vehicle fabrication), Road Classics (a show about old cars), The Great Outdoorsman, Little Miracles (a show about families with sick children), "Intelligence", "Comedy Shop", and Distant Roads (a show about culture). Are any of you having this? I'm assuming they've lost the NBC Universal library. |

I have a feeling RTV is going under. Some of the new shows are okay but there aren't many of them and the weekends are a mess now.

After reading this thread I just noticed they are not showing Marcus Welby anymore here either(you know the same 20 or so episodes they keep repeating). So perhaps the same thing happenned here.---And they have been showing stuff on the weekends that has nothing to do with classic tv for sometime now.Not to mention their 10 hours or so of of paid programming during the later evenings.-- I hardly even watch RTV anymore.--I'd much prefer to have Me-tv instead.

I guess the deal with NBC Universal ended. Maybe this will open up some of these shows to Me TV or Antenna TV?

Those shows you listed that they are now showing are the same ones that MY FAMILY CHANNEL is airing.

Movin On is on right now. I am happy about that. I haven't seen the show since it left the air.

Where are yall getting the new schedules from? Kojak is usually on right now, but not today. All of the TV Guide listings have the old schedule.
OK nevermind, I've figured out that it's Zorro. I'm glad they have a new schedule. I enjoyed most of the shows on the old one, but it was time for a change. |

Henry Luken, head of RTN parent Luken Communications, says the purchase is the first step in a plan to acquire around 400 translators and low-power stations so that its affiliates will have ample bandwidth to broadcast Luken's 10 existing and planned multicasting networks. The seller of the translators is David Honig's Minority Media and Telecommunications Council. The price: $390,000. Luken Communications, best known to broadcasters as the purveyor of Retro Television Network, is on a buying spree, seeking translators and low-power TV stations that it plans to make available to affiliates of its multicast networks so that they will have sufficient bandwidth to carry all 10 of Luken’s existing and planned multicasting networks. “We want to make sure that they have adequate bandwidth to run all our free over-the-air networks,” says Luken principal and operating partner Henry Luken, of Chattanooga, Tenn. Luken subsidiary Digital Networks LLC has made its first major purchase of translators, agreeing to purchase around 80 from the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council Inc. for $390,000, according to an FCC filing seeking approval of the deal. MMTC, headed by David Honig, acquired the translators as a donation from Trinity Broadcasting Network last year. Luken says that his goal is to amass 400 translators and low-power stations, mostly in small and medium markets where broadcast spectrum is tight. He says he envisions signing agreements with his affiliates under which they will run the translators and sell local advertising within their markets. In markets where his affiliates are interested in the running the translators or where he has no affiliates, Luken says he is prepared to partner with non-broadcasters. In addition to RTN, Luken now offers Tuff.TV, My Family TV and PBJ, a kids channel. He declined to identify the other networks in the works. For the networks, Luken says that he is also actively shopping for programming libraries to fill the networks. Luken says he understands that the translators come with no must-carry rights, but believes that cable systems will eventually pick up his channels because their telco rivals will and because a proliferation of over-the-air-only signals might encourage viewers to cancel their cable service. "If we broadcast with enough quality content, what are the cable systems really going to do?" Luken acknowledges that the translators are all analog, but he's prepared to invest in digital upgrades just as soon as the FCC clears the way. |

Movin' On, Route 66, Starsky & Hutch, and Police Story are worth the change, that's for sure, along with Black Sheep Squadron. I'll miss Alias Smith and Jones, but I saw most of the episodes with Pete Duel, so it's no big deal. |

Yep, all of the NBC/Universal stuff is gone. Most of the newer stuff looks to be lower-profile programming and stuff like Cold Case, Da Vinci's Inquest, and....ugh....reality shows. Who really wants to see a reality show about sick children on a "retro television" network? Hunting? I guess they're desperate for programming. It appears that they are using a national schedule now.
"The Saint" is a British show. Interesting. IIRC, Luken (owner of RTV) bought MyFamilyTV recently, or something like that. That may explain the programming overlap. IMO, they need to focus on making one strong network instead of trying to have a bunch of weaker ones. |

That article says they're looking for programming libraries, so who knows. Of course, I'd love it if they got in touch with Proctor & Gamble to put some Guiding Light/As the World Turns reruns on their schedule. Probably won't get a whole lot of viewers, but I'd enjoy it while I could!
Hey look, it's Movin' On!! I guess they're airing the schedule off by an hour for each time zone. |
