Eek Beloved Brady Mom Florence Henderson Admits To Cheating On Her Husband With NYC Mayor

Florence Henderson is no Carol Brady.

The 77-year-old actress, who portrayed the Brady Bunch matriarch, says she got crabs after a fling with former New York City Mayor John Lindsay in the 1960s.

In her new memoir, Life Is Not a Stage, Henderson says she cheated on her husband after the also-married Lindsay put the moves on her at the Beverly Hills Hotel, according to Reuters.

"I was lonely," she writes. "I knew it wasn't the right thing to do. So, what did I do? I did it." Henderson then recalls waking up the next morning at home and seeing "little black things" crawling on her bed and body. After a call to the doctor, Henderson found out she had pubic lice.

Lindsay, who was the mayor of New York from 1966 to 1973, sent a note of apology and flowers. "Guess I learned the hard way that crabs do not discriminate but cross over all socioeconomic strata," she says. "He must have had quite the active life. What a way to put the kibosh on a relationship."

Lindsay died in 2000.

I'm Shocked!! :

Well, at least she didn't let things get out of control with Barry Williams, who had a crush on her and took her out on a date!

Say it ain't so, Flo. That's some very un-Brady like behavior.

She is NOT the only former Brady Bunch member thats participated in very "un-Brady" - like behavior. I think it started with the shock, disgust and disappointment that the father, (Mike Brady) was gay.

Will the "Brady" scandals ever end? If I log on here one dayand fine that Ann B. Davis reveals in her memoirs that she had a tryst with Tiger, I'm going to drop my membership with Sitcomsonline!

Yeah, I can't honestly believe that there wasn't a less cringeworthy way of saying that; for instance, using "pubic lice" as they did just a little bit further down. Really a gross way of expressing the affliction.

As to the point of the article, it's disheartening but for me it's in the very distant past. She admits it was foolish and I doubt it's something she's done on a regular basis in her life.

I still like her and I'm sorry to hear she had to go through such an embarressing experience. As the saying goes, we fall in order to learn how to get back up again, though.

That's exactly it. I personally more astonished that she felt the need of revealing this-- especially the details-- than I am that she had the affair all those years ago. Also keep in mind it was a few years BEFORE she became Mrs. Brady.

No matter who you are everyone gets caught up in something. The bigger picture of it is that how you come out of what you got caught up in. Getting caught up is getting caught up.
