Exec Producer Scott Buck Spills "Dexter" Secrets

Everyone's favorite serial killer is gearing up to return this fall. We keep hearing that in season six, Dexter "returns to his roots."

What on earth does that mean? "Dexter has always known he doesn't want to pass his 'dark passenger' on to his son," says "Dexter" show runner Scott Buck.

"Now he is beginning to ask what he does want to pass on."






While Buck promises that season six's Dexter is a more confident Dexter, for whom "life is good," this will still be a crime-filled season.

"They are probably the biggest crimes we've ever seen on this show," Buck says cryptically.






Quinn and Deb are still living together, but this won't be "the happiest season" for Quinn.

Deb will see "big career changes as well as big personal changes."

"We've got a lot of loose strings. We're going to try to tie up some things this year," Buck promises, "but hopefully in some surprising and very fun ways."






What can Buck say about the new characters? Edward James Olmos's Professor Gellar is "a big person of interest in some crimes that are being committed in Miami," while Colin Hanks's Travis Marshall is a "close acquaintance" of Gellar's, who has "fallen under his power."

Mos is an ex-con who is trying to lead a "righteous life," and crosses paths with Dexter when one of his ex-con mechanics becomes a murder suspect.

Aimee Garcia will play Jamie, Harrison's new nanny and Batista's little sister. "She'll bring in a lot of vitality to Dexter's life," Buck says.
