Default Ever been asked to join a gang?

I was asked twice as a teenager to join a gang. Most of my friends growing up were either black, Mexican, or Asian. Never really had too many good white friends as a kid, infact I can probably count them on one hand. Anyway, in the fifth grade, I was asked by my friend Gene Paul if I wanted to join a local gang called the Columbia Villa Crips. In sixth grade I was asked by my best friend all the way back from Kindergarten Tahisa, if I wanted to join the Mexican Mafia. I politely declined both offers. That's about the time me and Tahisa's friendship ended, because I didn't want my life to go in that direction. I'm grateful that I never joined. If I did, I probably wouldn't even be here today. I hope Gene Paul and Tahisa are still alive. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find them on facebook, or anywhere else. Hopefully they're both out of the gang. Have any of you ever been in a gang, or get asked to join?

I was in MS-13 for a while, but I got tired of all those tattoos.

I'm glad both of you made the right choices and steered clear of the gangs.

You're lucky, believe me. We usually have an average of three shootings every Summer in my neighborhood. My mom tries to talk me out of going for walks after midnight, but I love being out at that hour. Definitely not wise on my part, but I'm not going to let anyone intimidate me.

If You Only Have 3 Shootings A Summer, You Are Also Lucky.
We Have A Couple Shootings A Night Over Here.
It Does Not Even Make The Top Story On The News Anymore.

Two shootings a night?? My goodness, how big of a neighborhood do you have? The biggest problem here is the tagging, drugs, and theft. We've had our mailbox tagged by gangs atleast 10 times. Got our garage tagged once.

I'm sorry to hear that man. Do you ever think about moving to a safer place? Whatever you do, just be careful please. I don't want any of my S.O. family getting hurt. Lucky you, in regards to the baseball team. I'm from Oregon, and doubt we'll ever have a MLB team.

I was born here, and lived here most of my life, so I know where and when it is safe most of the time. If I ever did move, it would be to New mexico, i lived there for a year when I was about 8 years old, I thought it was the coolest place I had ever been. As far as Oregon getting a baseball team, Keep your hopes up, there are less populated areas that have one.

Iv'e never been to New Mexico, but it's a place Iv'e always wanted to visit. Coolest place Iv'e ever visited was Detroit. Man, talk about tough neighborhoods. After being at Wrestlemania 23, I went for a walk at about 2:00 am in one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Detroit. Everybody had told me not to go into that neiborhood. It was an all black neighborhood, and I befriended this black guy who just got kicked out of his house by his girlfriend. As we were walking this black homeless man asked us for money. I had some money, but I had just enough to do what I was going to do that night, with just a little more to spare. The friend I was walking with gave him the half of a sandwich that he had left. The guy hugged my friend, and then hugged me. Anyway the guy said he respected me for having the guts to go into that neighborhood, saying they never have white guys in their neighborhood. Then we parted ways, and I was stopped by this beautiful black prostitute. The guy actually warned me about them. He said that they charge you real cheap, so that you'll be with them, and as you are doing your thing, they distract you, and steal all your money. The girl said she'd perform a sexual act on me for five dollars. I told her that I wasn't going to pay her for a BJ, because I could get that and much more for free pretty much anytime I want it. I said why would I pay you for that when I could get it for free from atleast 5 of my friends. I said here, you can have the five dollars, and you don't even have to do anything for it. Don't know why I just told this story. It has very little to do with this threads subject. lol! Oh well.

No, I think that I would have been the last person any gang would want to sign up.
